If you are passionate about Spain, love where you live, and could enthuse other people and let them into some local secrets then we would like to hear from you! We are looking for people to join our team as local representatives; your job would be to meet and greet our guests, tell them about the local area, and generally make them feel very welcome. We provide full training, workwear, official ID, special software for your phone and we pay a daily rate based on the number of meet and greets you are asked to do.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
No, you don't. Our guests come from all over the world, it is a great help if you do speak Spanish, or French or German. We provide you with a multi-lingual support pack. The most important thing is being able to smile - generally thats a great way to start any communication.
Where is this work based?
BonaSOL manages properties all along the coast. We are looking for people who live close to our properties, who have an insiders knowledge of the best places to visit, where to get a good meal, your personal recommendations. Ideally you will live no more than 20 minutes away.
The majority of our properties are apartments, all are privately owned and not part of any resort or complex.
What exactly would I do?
You would receive, in advance, details of guests arriving at a property that you have responsibility for. Generally our guests arrive for check-in between 16.00hrs and 21.00hrs, you would meet them at the property at the agreed check-in time. As a BonaSOL rep your job is to provide a warm welcome and introduce the guests to their holiday apartment - this means showing them around and explaining how things work. It also involves checking their ID documents and scanning these into your phone, using special software that we provide. The self check-out arrangemenmts vary between different properties and so you would need to explain how check-out works in your case. Often guests will have questions about the local area and this is where you have a chance to shine and tell them what is great about where you live. The entire check-in process usually lasts a maximum of 30 minutes, often less.
We have a sophisticated management system which means that paperwork is alomost non-existent. We can send all guest check-in details to your phone, and using our software, you can show that guests have all arrived safely. We are requitred by law to provide a 24hr on-call service. We have a dedicated 24hr phone number, and if you opt into the on-call service and there was a guest emergency at a property you have responsibility for then we would call you in the first instance and ask you to attend. There is an additional payment for this.
Ideally this work would suit someone who knows the area, is comfortable meeting new people, and who has some spare time on their hands in the afternoons and early evening. It is very much part-time work, however if it is something that you warm to there are other opportunities too such as becoming a zone supervisor or check-out inspector.
Do I need qualifications or experience?
No. We will provide you with all the necessary training you might need. Its probably important to stress that this is very part-time work and so will probably suit people who have retired from work but are looking for something to add to their day. You must reside in Spain and preferably live close to one of the properties that we manage. If you have had a career in customer service or any front facing operation you probably already have more than enough experience. Above all we are looking for people who are passionate about the Costa del Sol, who will give our guests a really warm welcome and also represent BonaSOL in a professional way.
Do I have to work alone?
No. If you have a partner and would like to work together we are very happy for this and will provide additional workwear, however we can only pay the standard rate. Working together provides additional assurance and can also give the guests more detailed information about the local area. All our reps must have a smartphone, this enables us to provide you with special check-in software but it also acts as an alarm in the very unlikely event that you need assistance quickly.
